SPECTATORS TO RETURN TO SPORTING VENUES IN GIBRALTAR THIS FRIDAY!

Gibraltar Rugby and the GRC have welcomed the news received earlier today, from the Gibraltar Sports and Leisure Authority, that spectators will be able to return to the stands as from this Friday 16th April 2021.

The news comes just in time for Round Two of the u-mee GRC this Saturday, meaning the Rugby Family will be able to return Europa Sports Park to support their friends and family on pitch once again. Though the news is greatly welcomed, we must stress that the safety of everyones health remains a priority.

All sporting venues will initially be limited to a maximum of 50% capacity and everyone that chooses to attend an event is urged to fully co-operate with any requirements or requests made onsite by GSLA and GRFU staff.

We are hugely grateful to all at the GSLA, HM Government of Gibraltar and all other bodies involved for their efforts and hard work that has bought us to this stage, ensuring that Gibraltar is in a position to allow spectators to return in a safe environment.

Rugby is very much driven by a sense of community and seeing fans return to the stands ultimately marks the final step in our return to normality.

The pandemic has been a challenge for us all and it is our hope that we can now move forward, together, and build on the work that has gone on behind the scenes to improve the sport locally.

We look forward to welcoming you all again this Saturday!
