u-mee GRC 10s Weekend Round-up

A blustery, but dry afternoon at Europa Sports Park saw two closely contested fixtures in Round Three of the u-mee GRC 10s League, with only a five point winning margin in both games.

Full-Time: DHL Europa Stormers 27 – 22 IBEX Buccaneers

The first game saw the DHL Europa Stormers return to their winning ways with a highly contested and entertaining 27-22 victory over the IBEX Buccaneers

Despite a sprightly start by the Stormers, it was the Buccaneers who finished the first half stronger, taking a 22-15 lead into the break.

In the second half Buccaneers weren’t able to build on their narrow lead and the Stormers came back stronger, by the end of the third quarter they were trailing by only one point. With the game finely balanced, it took to almost the last play of the game for the deadlock to be broken, with the Stormers eventually taking the win with a converted score.

Full-Time: Sovereign Scorpions 28 – 23 In-Line Framing Straits Sharks

The second game, between the Sovereign Scorpions and InLine Framing Straits Sharks was just as close. The Scorpions continued their winning streak with a hard fought 28-23 win. The Scorpions had built up a solid lead from the off, only to see it whittled away by a determined Sharks side. In the end Scorpions were the team thankful for referees final whistle.
